Satyr Hill American Holly (Ilex opaca ‘Satyr Hill’) is another cultivar of American Holly. Extremely similar to Jersey Princess American Holly, Satyr Hill American Holly, with its fantastical name, produces a beautiful showing of bright red berries in the fall through the winter. One of the most popular varieties of female American Holly, Satyr Hill trees need a male tree in their vicinity in order to be properly pollinated and produce flowers and fruit. The pyramidal shape of the tree and the distribution of its foliage provides great cover and habitat potential for birds. Satyr Hill American Holly trees can thrive in both full sun and shade, making them ideal ornamental trees, especially for borders.
