Exclamation!TM London Planetree (Platanus x acerifolia ‘Morton Circle’) is a tree cultivated and introduced by Chicagoland Grows. It is in the Sycamore family and can grow up to more than 65 feet. This tree’s bark is known to peel away in large strips to reveal the creams and baby greens of fresh bark underneath, creating a unique, beautiful mottled look. The Exclamation! London Planetree is resistant to anthracnose, a fungal disease that affects other shade trees like maple and elm, as well as many other species of sycamore trees, making this London Planetree the black sheep of its family. Additionally, these trees are superbly tolerant of extreme weather conditions like drought, frost cracking (which sycamore trees are often susceptible to), and air pollution, making it an ideal city tree.
