Conservation Status

Summer tanagers are fairly common and have seen slight increases in their population in recent years. However, populations have declined in some areas due to the rapid loss of riverside forest habitat.

Habitat

Summer Tanagers can be found at the edges of open deciduous or pine-oak forests. They can also be found in habitat such as parks, gardens, grasslands with scattered trees, and in trees bordering a creek or river.
