Conservation Status
Barred Owls have a stable population which has slightly increased in recent years. Although their numbers are rising, they are still sensitive to threats such as logging and habitat destruction.
Habitat
Barred Owls often live in forests that are near a water source such as a creek, river, or lake. These owls prefer more mature forests which tend to have taller trees, larger cavities for nesting, and larger amounts of prey.
