Conservation Status

Brown Thrashers are fairly common birds, however they have a declining population. They face threats such as habitat loss, collisions with cars, and use of pesticides.

Habitat

Brown Thrashers can be found in thickets, forest edges, and overgrown clearings in deciduous forests. They’re often found in woodlands with cottonwood, willow, dogwood, American plum, or scrub oak.  Thrashers can also be found in suburban areas or in backyards and gardens.
