Conservation Status
Common Yellowthroats are numerous, but their populations are declining. This decline can be attributed towards wetland degradation, habitat loss, poor water quality, pesticides, and other pollutants.
Habitat
Common Yellowthroats live in thick vegetation in a wide range of habitats, such as wetlands, prairies, pine forests, thickets, orchards, fields, shrub-covered hillsides, and river edges. Areas with dense vegetation that is low to the ground are ideal because this habitat allows them to easily forage and to make small, hidden nests.
