Conservation Status
Cedar Waxwing populations have remained stable in recent years, and have even increased in some areas. The use of berry trees in landscaping has contributed to this increase. Cedar Waxwings are especially vulnerable to collisions with cars and windows, since the berry trees which they occupy are usually planted along roadsides.
Habitat
Cedar Waxwings can be found in deciduous, coniferous, and mixed woodlands, and specifically in areas near streams. They often occupy the tops of berry-producing trees, which is their main food source. Due to the increase of ornamental berry trees that are being used in landscaping, cedar waxwing habitat has expanded into suburban areas as well.
