On June 19, 2021, the Middle Cumberland Archeological Society (MCAS) hosted its monthly meeting at Old Town. In their first in-person meeting since the beginning of the pandemic, MCAS members delved into the rich history of Old Town. Senator Bill and Tracy Frist conducted a tour of the Thomas Brown House and the 1801 Bridge, and Dr. Kevin Smith guided guests through Old Town’s Mississippian history and explained the importance of the burial mounds on the property. MCAS members also learned about the Old Town Arboretum and had the opportunity to tour it.
